I composed this short verse before the creation of this site and it's where the name of the site comes from. Shadow and light are the basic components of photography and the mixing of shadow and light is also a vivid describing metaphore for the life that all of us live.

The first version of the site was created back in the mid-90s and it can still be viewed HERE.

The initial creation was hard-coded HTML, a more a less standard technology at that time. Due to it's nature it was pretty tedious to added new galleries or picures to the site and because of this the last update on that version was in 2002. Since then the site remained unchanged until the early 2010 when I finally found the time to create a software package of my need based on YII and GreyBox.
